Bus Scope Changelog
This is the changelog for Bus Scope. Our development philosophy is simple: we ship desktop software that solves a specific problem reliably.
We release new features when the industry outgrows the current workflow. We ship fixes when we break something. We adapt when the underlying platform changes, such as a new network stack, OS security policy, or protocol specification. This page documents those improvements, fixes, and adaptations.
We try to avoid pushing updates just to bump the version number. If the build you are using is stable and the changelog does not mention a fix or feature you care about, it is safe to skip the release.
The entries here prioritize changes that affect real use: installers, license activation, import and export behavior, offline work, report handoff, data-format compatibility, performance, and error handling.
If you are deciding whether to upgrade, start with the items that match your workflow and then install the newer build when the fix or feature matters. - The borderless desktop workbench is now natively resizable from every edge and corner, down to a sensible minimum window size.
- Aligned the Community Edition feature contract with the implemented USB workflow: capture, descriptors, HID, CDC, mass-storage, video, triggers, and large-capture support are represented consistently.
- Corrected licensing copy so optional capabilities describe the implemented .bscope save/open and reporting workflows without overstating replay or offline behavior.

0.1.4 — June 11, 2026
- Live capture now properly displays USB descriptors and decoded events in real time. Previously some details only appeared after stopping the capture.
- Windows: USB device detection no longer fails silently. If enumeration encounters an error, a warning is shown instead of an empty device list.
- Pause and resume no longer lose the latest statistics gathered between stopping and restarting.
- Session data is now saved more reliably. Previously some write errors were silently ignored, which could result in incomplete saved sessions.
- Windows: after installing USBPcap, Bus Scope now attempts to start the driver automatically instead of immediately asking for a restart. If auto-start fails, a clear "Restart Windows" button appears.
- General stability improvements and code quality cleanup in the capture and session subsystems.
