Quick Start
Installation
Download Song Practice Lab from the product download page for your platform. Install the desktop package, then launch the app from the system application menu. If your build was installed from a direct download, keep the original installer in case you need to reinstall the same version later.
First launch
Open the settings panel and confirm the license state. The community workflow can open local audio and review basic practice state. The professional workflow unlocks stem separation, tempo and pitch control, chord detection, loop practice, project save, backing-track export, and app activation with the checkout email and license key.
Core operations
- Import an MP3, WAV, or FLAC file from your computer.
- Review the file metadata and waveform.
- Run stem separation when the professional workflow is enabled.
- Solo or mute vocals, drums, bass, guitar, or other stems.
- Set A/B loop points around the section you want to practice.
- Slow the section down, adjust pitch if needed, and repeat until the part is clean.
- Save the project or export a backing track when the mix is ready.
Common questions
Do files need to be uploaded?
The product is designed around local desktop practice. Treat imported songs, separated stems, projects, and exports as local files unless a future feature explicitly says otherwise.
Why does stem separation sound imperfect?
Stem separation quality depends on the source mix. Dense guitars, live recordings, heavy reverb, and overlapping instruments can leave bleed or artifacts. The goal is a useful practice mix, not a perfect remix.
Which feature should I try first?
Start with a short loop and tempo reduction. It is the fastest way to confirm that the app helps your real practice workflow before spending time on exports.
